How do I choose the right breast implant size?

The "right" breast implant size is a very personal decision. Our surgeons are very experienced in performing breast augmentation surgery and will choose the breast implant size that incorporates your desired outcome, existing breast tissue, and unique body type. It can be helpful to show your Atlanta area breast augmentation surgeon examples from our photo gallery to give him an idea of the results you'd like to attain. Keep in mind that individual results vary.

Where is the best place for the incision?

While we often place the breast augmentation incision along the breast crease, called an "inframammary incision," there are a variety of options available. During your consultation, we will consider your specific anatomy and aesthetic goals to help you determine which location will work best for you. Your surgeon will also help you decide on breast implant type and placement. For more information, review our breast augmentation options page.

My breasts are smaller than before breastfeeding. Can breast augmentation help?

Many women who are happy with their breast size before having children find that they have lost breast volume since breastfeeding. This is also the case for women who have lost a lot of weight. Breast augmentation can restore your original breast size to give you a very natural, yet feminine look.

Can breast augmentation reshape sagging breasts?

Breast augmentation can reduce minor sagging by creating fuller breasts. However, many women benefit most by combining breast augmentation and a breast lift in our Atlanta area practice to attain breasts that are both full and shapely.

One breast is smaller than the other. What can I do to make them even?

There is no need to live with breasts that are asymmetric. Breast augmentation can provide you with symmetrical, beautiful breasts.

Is there a greater health risk with silicone implants than with saline?

After 14 years of rigorous study, the FDA concluded that there is no scientific correlation between silicone breast implants and increased health problems. Since 2006, a new generation of silicone breast implants has been FDA-approved for women age 22 and older. This option continues to increase in popularity as many women feel that silicone implants have a more natural look and feel than saline.

How long do I need for recovery after breast augmentation surgery?

You will need to have someone drive you home after your surgery, and it's likely that you'll need help at home for the first few days. Most women return to work or school within 5 to 7 days of their surgery and resume their normal activities after 3 weeks. For more information, review our breast augmentation recovery page.
