Recovery & Results
Our surgeon and highly trained staff will do everything possible to ensure that you are safe, comfortable and well cared for during the recovery period. After your Mommy Makeover, you will be bruised and swollen for a few days. We will prescribe pain medication to manage your discomfort, which most patients take for several days. You will receive detailed instructions on how to care for drains, dressings, and sutures, and we are always available to answer any questions you have following your surgery. Although your range of motion will be limited, we encourage all patients to begin walking as soon as possible.
1 to 2 weeks
- All sutures and drains will be removed.
- Your mobility should be greatly improved.
- Some women return to school, office work, and light activities at this point.
4 to 6 weeks
- Resume exercise and strenuous activities.
- Improved contours become noticeable as swelling dissipates.
- Compression garments and a surgical bra are no longer needed.
3 to 6 months
- Breast implants drop and fluff (if applicable).
- Reach final results.
9 to 12 months
